Five Killer Mistakes when buying your first Kitesurfing Kite
It takes a lot more to be considered "cool" in the world of Kitesurfing, when a lot fail early even in the stages of purchasing their first kite.
Many kitesurfers come to the conclusion that one of the toughest stages of pursuing Kitesurfing is when you finally decide to buy your first kitesurfing kite. Hence, most of them came up with five deadly slips in obtaining a kitesurfing kite for yourself.
First and foremost is to never buy a very expensive kitesurfing kite for a starter. During your practice as a beginner on the sport, it is sure that your kiteboarding kite will experience a lot of crashes which leads to further equipment casualty. So why pay for a luxurious price when you might scathe it anyway.
Second is to never go for the kiteboarding kites' fashion and/or look but select according to the safety and quality features of the kiteboarding kites. It doesn't matter if yours is the latest in design. The most essential point to consider is how your first kite would help in contributing to your mastery of the sport and make your practice sessions a lot easier for you to handle as a beginner.
Third is to never buy kites without a safety release system tied. This looks like a strap that is usually bounded around the surfer's wrist and to the bar that one holds on to for control. It will incapacitate the kite once you lose your grip into the control bar. However, this system includes a safety rope or some sort of a harness fastened to your left wrist which would permit you to recover the control bar.
Fourth thing to consider is that to never rush into buying without asking for professional advice and tips. The kites vary according to your purpose and level of enthusiasm for the sport. There are kites more suited for the starters which emphasize safety and control characteristics while others are made for the so called professional kite surfers who actively joins competitions. It is important that you get a chance to converse with your personal instructor, if you have one, or even with some friends who are also into the same kitesurfing sport before you finally choose your own kiteboarding kite.
And last but not the least no-no in buying your first kitesurfing kite is to never forget to consider the size of your kite. Of course, you would want a kite that you want to make the most of. There is a long list of kite sizes but what you must consider in determing the size of the kite is to take note of the projected area first. You must be mindful that different kite sizes also mean different approaches of handling and lifting. For a beginner, it is best to consider a more fluid, certain, and an unwavering flying kite than a superior one.
